Team Awareness NY Facilitator,

Delivering impactful Workplace Wellness Workshops designed to enhance employee well-being and organizational resilience. The workshop series consists of three separate modules: the Ripple Effect of Well-Being, Resilience & Thriving, and Empowered Health Consciousness. Developed by Dr. Joel Bennett, PhD, in collaboration with colleagues at Texas Christian University, these workshops are certified Evidence-Based Practices (EBP) approved by the New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS). The approach has been refined through extensive research with implementation by leading organizations like Amtrak, Caterpillar Inc., the National Guard of the United States, and TGI Fridays.

Responsibilities:

Facilitation: Conduct engaging, and interactive workshop sessions based on pre-designed curriculum and materials provided.

Delivery: Deliver each workshop module, ensuring adherence to the learning objectives and maintaining participant engagement.

Participant Engagement: Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages active participation and discussion.

Content Mastery: Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the workshop content, including the theoretical frameworks and practical applications.

Logistics Management: Coordinate workshop logistics, including setup, participant registration, and materials distribution.

Evaluation: Facilitate data collection and participant feedback mechanisms to assess workshop effectiveness and gather insights for continuous improvement.

Collaboration: Work closely with team members and client organizations to customize workshops and ensure alignment with organizational goals. Create and maintain relationships within the community and local businesses.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, or a related field OR Associate’s degree with relevant work experience.

Experience: Proven experience in facilitating workshops or training sessions, particularly in workplace wellness or organizational development contexts.

Skills: Excellent communication, public speaking and presentation skills. Ability to convey complex concepts in an accessible manner. Strong organizational and time management skills.

Knowledge: Familiarity with principles of occupational wellness, resilience training, and health promotion strategies.

Certifications: Any relevant certifications in wellness coaching, facilitation, or related fields are advantageous.

Technology: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and experience using technology for workshop facilitation and data collection.

PREVENTION EDUCATOR

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary:

The Prevention Educator is a part-time 12-month position that is responsible for the development and delivery of ATOD (Alcohol Tobacco and Other Drugs) prevention services in Schoharie County, using the risk and protection framework. This position requires developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with schools, community and business groups and other human service agencies.

Description of Duties:

· Reports directly to the Executive Director

· Presents OASAS approved model programs in schools and/or businesses countywide.

· Networks with leadership of community agencies (schools and/or businesses) to present OASAS approved model programs and services to meet changing needs.

· Provides staff support and participate in other SCCASA programs and events.

· Assists in advocacy for alcohol and substance abuse services.

· Assists the Executive Director and other staff members in developing and/or writing proposals for funding opportunities.

· Attends workshops, seminars and meetings for professional development.

· Attends and participates in all SCCASA staff meetings, staff functions and fundraisers.

· Observes general office procedures regarding standardized statistical reporting and data collection and submits such on timely basis.

· Expected to work towards CPS/CPP credentialing

· Assists in assessing the community/environment to develop new services or adapt existing programs

· Performs other duties as required by the agency’s administration to meet SCCASA’s

program objectives.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Work experience/education in the prevention, intervention and or treatment of ATOD issues is preferred. Creativity, and strong communication and organizational skills are a must. Individual should meet one of the following requirements.

· Four-year degree preferred in human services, health, education or related field.

· Demonstrate the ability to carry out the duties as outlined through work and life experience.

SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

· Experience in Human Resources/ Business relations preferred.

· Experience presenting/facilitating large group instruction

· Working knowledge of various computer programs needed to perform required

job duties such as but not limited to the following:

1. Word Processing

2. Familiarity with the internet

3. E-mailing

4. Power Point presentations and Excel are helpful but not required.

· Strong interpersonal and phone skills

· Strong communication, writing skills, and public speaking skills are required.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Travel will vary. Moderate travel throughout the county. Moderate travel outside of the county.

All travel expenses are covered as defined in agency personnel policy manual.

15 hours per week
